FLOORING OVER STAIRS

Stairs are usually a high traffic area in most households, so it is important to select a flooring that is durable and hard wearing. Sanding and Coating

This is the most popular flooring choice for stairs. The treads and risers are sanded, buffed and then 3 coats of polyurethane are applied. This process takes approximately 2 days, during which time the stairs are unable to be used.

Cork Tiles

Cork tiles, in a choice of either natural or coloured, are applied to the treads and risers. Timber trims are applied to the nosings. The cork and timber are then sanded and coated with 3 coats of polyurethane.

This process takes approximately 4 days, during which time the stairs are unable to be used.

Engineered Timber

The selelcted timber is installed to the treads and risers, with trims secured to the nosings. As engineered timber is a pre-finished product, the stairs can be used immediately.

Generally, this installation is a one day process.
